dinoland at zilker botanical garden

yay for fridays with daddy! we all went to the zilker botanical garden with some friends on friday to see the dinoland exhibit. it was so much fun!


here we all are minus daddy. somebody had to take the picture. =)


we were sure k's bright green shoes left the green dino tracks on the sidewalk on the way to the exhibit.

jonah could not WAIT to see the "nenos!"

oh and btw, he can say "di" and "no", but for some reason he can't/won't say them together. go figure.

they had these really cool dinos all around the park that different classes and groups painted and decorated. this was my favorite one.

this was the first giant dino we saw. jonah loved it! hey, outta the way, dude.

we were so psyched that daddy could come with us!

k had to explain to t that the dinos weren't really going to fight before our eyes. the tour guide at the last dino said there were two dinos up ahead getting ready to fight. i think he might have thought we were really going to see a show.

ok, don't be confused. after the nenos we went to see the nemos. jonah calls all fish nemo. even if they're not orange.

i know you're thinking "5 bucks that dino takes a nose dive into the water". but no. that kid has a death grip on those suckers. (check out the reflection)

we want cake! where's our cake?!

if you're a parent you probably know about the plethora of annoying kids music that oh so easily gets stuck in your head. well i have great news. i found some kids music that doesn't suck. and if it does gets stuck in your head it's ok, because it's awesome.



i used to be a they might be giants fan back in um... high school i think is when i first discovered birdhouse in your soul and istanbul (not constantinople). then just recently i rediscovered them doing kids music and videos on the disney channel. last week i found their new cd/dvd at the library and discovered that they also do the mickey mouse clubhouse theme song and the hotdog song (now this one will get stuck in your head... don't even listen to it!). but i seriously love this cd. and the videos are so cute! here's their youtube channel. they do a friday night podcast and i'm totally subscribing.

oh! ah ha ha!!! i just discovered my new favorite song! ok, i have to admit it's mostly because pirates 4 through 9 are named peggy (which is my mom's name) and "they all only wore one shoe..." oh, my side. aid-ay moi!

stuff to do with toddlers: bubbles! bubbles! bubbles!

oh glorious glorious day! we finally had a day where it wasn't 98 degrees by 9am and we took full advantage!

we went over to jackson's house on wednesday morning and played in the backyard. there was a lovely breeze and i tell you, 83 degrees has never felt better! texas welcomes you fall!!!

lara busted out the bubbles and the boys went to town. well jackson was into them most of the time. jonah on the other hand has never had full reign of his own bubble wand and bottle before so i think he blew bubbles for about 56 minutes of the hour we were outside. there was a brief tee ball intermission, but when sharing was not going his way he went back to the bubbles. and i mean, who can blame him? besides a barrel of monkeys is there anything more fun?


hey, at least he's getting good practice for blowing out his birthday candles at the end of this month!
