wakin' up from a good nap

this one goes out to all you kids quest volunteers.

we had to wake jonah up from a really good nap before we went to Christmas eve eve (december 23rd) service at church. and just a little background on why this is so humorous... they have this song they sing in kids quest where they count to 3 and then all the kids yell "elmer!" and then a puppet named elmer comes out. jonah loves elmer.

he actually left it on!

my little man must be growing up. i put a baseball hat on him today and he actually left it on long enough for me to take some pictures.

normally he rips them right off. i think it might have been because he was playing with his baseball and i called it his "baseball hat". and lately he's been into doing things with themes.

this one's my favorite...

and this one...

hmmm... maybe i'll take it off now.

nope! just wanna put it on backwards.

christmas lights

when we got home from our thanksgiving day festivities last night it was a beautiful 68 degrees. jonah climbed out of the car with puppy and bips (blanket) in hand ready to head to bed. as we were unloading the car and enjoying the fresh air, jonah decided to check out the driveway lining christmas lights. i couldn't resist busting out the camera and capturing the curiousity...

we're goin' to d & b, cha!

last week we went to dave & buster's for some small group bonding and dinner. silly me forgot to get a picture of our small group. doh! it was one of those days.

but i did manage to capture some fun pics of jonah on his first, no make that second trip to dave & busters. i forgot we were there in april 2007 for our friend allan's birthday party. do baby heads get any rounder than this? seriously.

ok, so following are some pictures of jonah's second trip to dave & buster's... but his first trip where he actually got to play games.

here's our favorite get-the-song-stuck-in-your-head-all-week game: colorama! hopefully this isn't the beginning of a gambling addiction. jonah actually picked a winner on one of his spins. go green! big money! no whammie!

scott's daughter madyson also won big! =)

we found this game that jonah loved! it involved sticking a coin in the slot and trying to get it to roll into the back of a dump truck. jonah's favorite part: he thought all the trucks were Mack from the movie Cars.

carefully putting the coin in the slot... this was the challenging part of the game for the 2 year old.

then watching the coin roll into the trucks. oooooooooh!!!

did i make it?!

such sweet fascination. kids make all things new & fun & exciting.

in this game you try to get the coin to go into choo choo cars, which looked awefully similar to thomas and friends, so this was another big winner with our two year old crowd.

a view from the other side

leah and madyson playing a little skee ball

here's what cute little madyson got with her big ticket winnings!

i almost forgot... jonah got a d&b basketball and a frisbee with his mack & choo-choo game tickets. (oh, and daddy helped just a wee bit).

my veggie friends

i know what you're thinking. no, they're not vegetarians. and no, they don't star in veggie tales. my good friend... hmmm... i just can't find her veggie name anywhere on her blog. i'll have to ask her and then fill it in later. so my friend k has a blog with pics of her kids. well for anonymity she calls all of her family and friends by vegetable names.

so starring in this post are my wonderful friends from vegetable house!

guess which two heads are fake? that's right. i did not get one pic of this adorable family of five in this setting where everyone was looking and smiling so i took 2 of their heads from other photos. i hope you can't tell who. =)

the chicks

the dudes

i love this one! they love each other. you can just tell. aren't they cute?!

some folks at the park had this cute widdle puppy. all the kids were playing with him and chasing him around. you tell tell he's a puppy. just look how he's running.

thanks my sweet friends! i had so much fun hanging out with you guys and taking your pics! and gaurgum, i mean galacto-man, wrote me the sweetest thank you note...

AMAZING! You did an incredible job! You turned the portrait experience into a very pleasurable one. Historically this has been a major source of stress for me as we drag the kids off to the mall and try to get them behave long enough for a slightly trained Sears employee to snap a few shots… Thank you so much!
thanks g! that is probably one of the best compliments i have ever received.
